SOL Party members Enis Çiçek, Şükrü Çetin, and Menevşe Alptekin, who were detained for hanging a banner reading “Against Sharia, fascism, and darkness: a secular, revolutionary, democratic republic” in the Sefaköy district of Istanbul, were referred to the courthouse. The prosecutor requested the arrest of the three on charges of “inciting the public to hatred and hostility.” The Criminal Court of Peace decided to release the three under judicial control in the form of house arrest.
