The snowman built by convicts at Kars Type-T Closed Prison No.1 C-5 ward was considered an element of “crime.” The Prison’s Disciplinary Council recorded the snowman making a victory sign as a “symbol of illegal organization” and sentenced 12 convicts to 12 days of solitary confinement due to “hanging publications, posters, placards, pictures, symbols, signs and alike that belong to illegal organizations to a place at the institutions.”
