According to the “September 2020 Press Freedom Report” announced by Press In Arrest, 64 journalists were prosecuted last month in 38 press cases in at least 7 provinces with claims of imprisonment for a total of 7 times heavy life imprisonment and up to 970 years and 10 months of imprisonment. A total of 21 years and six months of imprisonment sentences were issued against five journalists in concluded prosecutions; four journalists were acquitted. Furthermore, 11 journalists were detained, 2 journalists were arrested and new lawsuits were filed against at least three journalists in the one-month period.
