The Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) imposed an administrative fine of approximately 8 million lira on ATV over content broadcast on the program “Esra Erol’da.” RTÜK concluded that a broadcast involving a DNA test to determine the identity of a child’s father could harm the physical, mental or moral development of children and young people, and imposed a fine equal to 1 percent on ATV. Turkuvaz Media responded to the decision in an analysis broadcast on A Haber and argued that there was a double standard in the oversight of television channels and digital platforms.
