The annual report of Reporters Without Borders (RSF), which reflects the balance sheet of press freedom in the world, has been published. It was pointed out that in Turkey, which was ranked 153rd in the report on press freedom among 180 countries, approximately 90 percent of the media is under government control. According to the report, in 2021, 488 journalists worldwide were arrested on grounds of their profession, while nearly half of all imprisoned journalists worldwide were in China, Myanmar and Belarus.
