Mehmet Ali Ertaş, Managing Editor of the Kurdish daily Xwebûn, appeared before the judge at Diyarbakır 9th Assize Court. Ertaş was sentenced to 1 year and 3 months in prison for “making illegal organization propaganda.” The Constitutional Court found a violation of rights and ruled that the journalist should be retried.
