On the 100th day of İmamoğlu’s detention, the trial of 7 people arrested for “insulting the President” due to the slogans shouted at the Saraçhane rally was held. During the hearing at Istanbul 19th Criminal Court of First Instance, lawyers argued that the indictment was abstract and that detention had turned into a punishment. The court ruled for the release of 7 people with a ban on leaving the country and accepted President Erdoğan’s request to join the case. The next hearing is scheduled for October 24.
