Police teams conducted simultaneous house raids in several neighborhoods in the Yüksekova district of Hakkari. At least 20 people were detained during the raids, which were carried out on allegations of “being a member of an organization” and “spreading propaganda for an organization,” and were taken to the Yüksekova District Police Headquarters. In Şırnak city center, A.K. and M.T. were arrested from among the four people detained in house raids on January 30, while two others were released under judicial control. The court based its detention decision on the allegation of “unauthorized possession of dangerous substances.” Since January 13, the number of people detained in Şırnak and its districts has risen to 33. It was reported that 19 of those detained were children. At least 65 people were detained across the city during the protests.
