Protest bans, initially declared in Van following the coup attempt in 2016 and were extended and continuously until April 2019 and has been ongoing without interruption since, were extended once again. The Governorate announced that all protests and demonstrations in the central province were banned for 16 days due to the outbreak, as well as for “the protection of national safety and public order.” Governorates in Siirt and Batman banned protests and demonstrations for 15 days as well.
