Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office objected to the release of manager Ayşe Barım, who was on trial for allegedly directing artists to Gezi Park protests. Istanbul 26th High Criminal Court had released Barım with house arrest and a ban on traveling abroad after she had been detained for 250 days, taking into account medical reports and witness statements. The Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office objected to this decision and demanded the continuation of Barım’s detention for up to 30 years. Halit Ergenç, Bergüzar Korel, Nejat İşler, Mehmet Günsür and many other artists were heard as witnesses in Barım’s trial. Witnesses stated that they went to Gezi Park of their own volition and that Barım did not direct them.
