Istanbul 27th Criminal Court of First Instance sentenced Y.K., who took part in a protest in support of Palestine, to 11 months and 20 days in prison on June 19 for insulting the president. The court deferred the announcement of the verdict and imposed a five-year probation period on the defendant.
