The watch to be organised for 12 thousand year old ancient city Hasankeyf and Dicle Valley, which are under the threat of Ilısu Dam Project, was prevented. Upon their visit to the ancient region, People’s Democratic Party (HDP) Batman MP Ayşe Acar Başaran, HDP Youth Assembly members and Hasankeyf Coordination members were taken under blockade by the police and soldiers. As the protesters chanted, “Hasankeyf is history, protect your history,” the police and soldiers claimed that chanting the slogan is prohibited. Intervening the protest, the police detained at least ten people.
