The “Dream Travellers Justice Awards” ceremony to be organized by Suruç Families Initiative on the fifth anniversary of the Suruç Massacre was banned by Beyoğlu District Governorate. The ceremony was organized at Taksim Hill Hotel and was banned with a decision of Beyoğlu District Governorate, so it was transferred to Önder Babat Cultural Center, which is again in Beyoğlu. The police took the cultural center under blockade hours before the ceremony; preventing it from being held there as well. Suruç Families Initiative wanted to announce the event’s cancellation and that the event was banned even at Önder Babat Cultural Center; the police wanted to prevent that as well.
