Press Council reacted against the pressure against those working in the media, dismissals and the arrest of journalists; stating that a “one-voice” media is being created through the elimination of freedom of expression and press freedom. “Even though the election promises prior to June 24 stated more freedom and more democracy, the post-election environment exhibits fast regression of press freedom, the emergence of a one-voice media as well as an intolerance against oppositional views and voices,” the Council stated.
