The testimony procedures of the employees detained due to the cartoon published in LeMan magazine have been completed. Editor-in-chief Zafer Aknar, graphic designer Cebrail Okçu, cartoonist Doğan Pehlivan and managing director Ali Yavuz are expected to be brought to the courthouse tomorrow.
Lawyer Utku Akyol told Mesopotamia Agency that in their statements they stated that “the people in the cartoon are not prophets, they symbolize people who died in the war.” The other employees, who are not responsible for the publication, were demanded to be released.
In addition, the Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK) blocked access to Leman’s website “leman.com.tr” in accordance with the decision numbered 2025/6609 of Istanbul 5th Criminal Judicature of Peace.
