The march started by the Confederation of Public Employees’ Trade Unions (KESK) from Diyarbakır demanding the reinstatement of those dismissed from public service by state of emergency decrees reached Ankara on October 16. The police prevented KESK members from marching to the Ministry of Justice. KESK members staged a sit-in protest against the police blockade and then held a press statement in front of SES Headquarters. DEM Party MPs Zeki Irmez, Hüseyin Olan, Yılmaz Hun and CHP Deputy Chair Gamze Taşcıer attended the statement. KESK Co-Chair Ayfer Koçak stated that the unlawfulness that started with the dismissals with the decree decrees continued with the trustee practices.
