Shuttle vehicle operators who opposed the Adana Metropolitan Municipality’s decision to hold a tender for 300 new shuttle license plates staged a protest in front of the municipal building. A scuffle broke out with security guards when members of the Adana Chamber of Shuttle Vehicle Operators and Tradespeople tried to enter the building. Police used pepper spray against the protesters and pushed the group away from the building. Chamber President Aydın Bulut said 2,500 shuttle vehicles would not provide service if the new plates were put on the market.
