Workers from Elazığ Eti Gümüş and Doruk Madencilik, both affiliated with Yıldızlar SSS Holding, continued their protest outside the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources for unpaid wages and compensation for a fourth day. Following talks with holding representatives, the workers said they would not leave the area until all their receivables were paid and ministry officials met with them. Police removed journalists from the area, surrounded the miners and began detaining protesters. Many people, including Bağımsız Maden-İş President Gökay Çakır and Organizing Specialist Başaran Aksu, were detained. Two workers who became ill during the intervention were taken to hospital.
