Boğaziçi University students protested an increase in cafeteria prices from 50 TL to 85 TL. Students said the price had been raised for the second time in a short period, entered the cafeteria by jumping over the turnstiles and symbolically served food. Following the protest, university management called large numbers of private security guards and riot police to the campus. Police placed several locations on the North Campus under blockade. Students drew attention to the fund scandal in Türkiye and protested the university administration’s decision to raise meal prices.
