On the third anniversary of the February 6 earthquakes, Ankara Labor and Democracy Forces gathered in front of the Kolej Metro Station and attempted to march to Yüksel Street. Police blocked the march by setting up barricades to prevent the crowd, who wanted to commemorate those who lost their lives in the earthquake and protest the policy of negligence and impunity, from proceeding. Despite the barricade, police attacked the group that wanted to continue the action. During the intervention, Serdar Kibar, Regional Representative of the People’s Houses, was detained. Speaking at the action, Elif Torun Öneren, General Chair of the Revolutionary Party, reacted to the police intervention, stating that the state had failed to fulfill its responsibilities during the earthquake process.
