Istanbul Medical Chamber (ITO) Great Congress delegate Dr Tahsin Çınar was detained due to his social media posts. In the statement made by the Turkish Medical Chamber, it was announced that Çınar was detained based on the posts made by an account that doesn’t belong to him through a baseless denouncement made from an unidentified social media account. Charged with “public incitement towards resentment and hostility” and “insulting the President,” Çınar was released by the court he was taken to, on the condition of judicial measures.
