Mehmet Baki Tekin, an academic who completed his Ph.D at the State University of New York in the USA with the thesis “Who Rules Turkey Between 1980-2008? Capital Power and the Rise of Authoritarian Populism” was not accepted by the Interuniversity Board on the grounds of “hard style, provocative expression and harsh criticism.” Tekin applied to the Council of State against the board’s decision.
