A university student in Eskişehir was taken into custody on April 2, 2026, from his dorm room on the grounds that he had posted stickers opposing the NATO Summit to be held in Ankara in July. The prosecutor’s office investigated the student on charges of “inciting the public to hatred and hostility.” A day earlier, another student who had made an anti-NATO social media post in Ankara was also detained on the same charge and released after giving a statement.
