Istanbul University student Nanaxanım Babazade was detained from her workplace on August 21 and taken to Arnavutköy Repatriation Center. It is stated that Babazade was subjected to ill-treatment and strip search for 3 days.
Her friends made a press statement in front of Istanbul Provincial Directorate of Migration Management. In the statement, it was stated that Babazade has no security in Azerbaijan and is under the threat of death if he is sent back.
Babazade was repeatedly transferred between centers in Arnavutköy and Çatalca, his belongings were not given to him, he was denied a vegan diet and was starved. His lawyer stated that he had bruises on his arms, nail marks on the back of his neck and his hair was pulled out.
His friends stated that the Migration Administration was pressuring Babazade with irregular procedures and demanded
Giving them their belongings and clothes
Ensuring the right to a vegan diet
Regular access to his/her lawyer
