Yıldız Technical University (YTÜ) administration banned the movie screening week organised by the students under the topic, “Gender and Identity in Movies.” The event, which included the screening of movies like, “Ma Vie en Rose,” “Boys Don’t Cry,” “Fat Girl,” “XXY” and “Tomboy” was banned due to “homosexuality being a red line.” Screenings of all four movies were further banned due to involving sexuality and violence.
