The house of the grandparents of Muğla Menteşe Mayor Gonca Köksal Aras was attacked with Molotovs. A flammable substance thrown into the apartment in Muslihittin Neighborhood at night caused a fire on the balcony. The fire was extinguished with the intervention of neighbors. Cologne bottles were found at the scene.
Muğla Governor İdris Akbıyık, Metropolitan Mayor Ahmet Aras and Mayor Gonca Köksal visited the scene and made investigations. Governor Akbıyık announced that the perpetrators of the attack would be caught in a short time.
Police teams captured two suspects, aged 15 and 16, who were identified as the perpetrators of the attack. The arrival of the suspects at the scene was recorded by security cameras.
