The first hearing of the lawsuit filed against Halime Topus, the director of the Association for Assistance, Solidarity, Unity and Culture with Families Losing Their Relatives in the Cradle of Civilizations (MEBYA-DER), was held with the allegation of “membership in a terrorist organization”, on the grounds of the association’s activities as well as the meeting and demonstrations she participated in. Diyarbakır 11th Assize Court issued the acquittal of Topus, who was charged due to the protests and demonstrations she participated in, as well as the association activities.
