Politician and writer Mahmut Alınak was arrested with the allegation of “disrupting the unity and the territorial integrity of the state.” An important name in the tradition of civil disobedience in Turkey, as well as rights advocacy, Alınak was imprisoned for the 10th time.
Alınak’s arrest was based on his book on Cizre People’s Assembly Co-Chair Mehmet Tunç, donating the income from the book to the Tunç family, mediating the reconciliation of two families and collecting papers from the trash with those who do it as a profession, in order to draw the attention to these people who try to survive in these difficult conditions in Diyarbakır…
