The Adana Regional Court of Justice overturned the 1-year, 2-month prison sentence handed to LGBTI+ and human rights activist Aytok Zozan Viyan, who was tried in Mersin on the charge of “insulting the president” over social media posts. The Court of Appeal ruled to acquit Viyan, finding that the alleged act did not constitute a crime.
