Police officer Osman Pirinççi, who was tried on charges of dislocating lawyer Mustafa Avcıoğlu’s arm during an action carried out as part of the investigation into the murder of Reşit Kibar, was acquitted. The Ankara 18th Criminal Court of First Instance acquitted the defendant on the grounds that “the authority to use force was not exceeded” before all evidence was gathered and witnesses were heard. The Halkevleri Legal Department reacted to the decision, stating that the policy of impunity continues and that they will appeal the decision.
