Istanbul 34th Assize Court convicted Evrensel Daily’s former reporter Ali İhsan Terzi due to “making terrorist organisation propaganda” in the first hearing of the lawsuit filed against him due to his social media posts. Additional time requests of the defendant lawyers to prepare defense statements were denied.
The indictment prepared against the column of Ender İmrek on the newspaper with the title, “The Hermes Bag was shining brightly,” was accepted by the court as well. The first hearing will be held on April 29. Imrek is charged with insulting Emine Erdoğan.
