Istanbul 9th Administrative Court decided that there is ‘nothing unlawful’ in the ban against the 2019 Istanbul LGBTI+ Pride March. The court based the decree on the Governorate having issued the ban due to the allegations that ‘provocative acts and events may occur,’ ‘for the protection of people’s peace and safety, personal immunity, security regarding disposition, general health and morality, as well as the rights and freedoms of others.’
