The first hearing of the lawsuit filed against Sözcü Daily writer Yılmaz Özdil was held at Istanbul 2nd Criminal Court of First Instance due to an article, titled, ‘The Threat of a Bigot’, after he was targeted by Ebubekir Sifil, a lecturer at Yalova University Faculty of Islamic Sciences, with the expressions, ‘Let their bodies not be brought into our mosques when they die’. The court adjourned the hearing in order to obtain the statement of the complainant.
