A lawsuit was filed against Evrensel Daily with a claim of penalty fine for a total of 100 thousand TL on the news published on the newspaper’s July 13, 2018 issue, entitled, “Albayrak signals attack schedule against workers” in which the government’s economic policies are criticized. The indictment included the refutation text sent by Minister of Treasury and Finance Berat Albayrak’s lawyer Ahmet Özel following the news coverage and was also published on the newspaper. Managing Editor Cem Şimşek was charged with “insult” within the file.
