A lawsuit was filed against People’s Democratic Party (HDP) Party Assembly (PM) member Hatice Büşra Kuyun, who had been kidnapped and threatened on May 4th in Van by people who introduced themselves as police officers, based on the statement she made on the incident. No action was taken on the incident so far, whereas Kuyun will stand trial at Van 7th Criminal Court of First Instance with the allegation of “public incitement towards resentment and hostility.” The indictment involved no detail about the incident of kidnapping and that the statements of Kuyun were shown as criminal evidence against her due to the expressions, “We know this mentality very well from the 90s. The only thing that changed was the Taurus Mountains. Physical and political genocide operations on the Kuridhs people, Kurdish youngsters and Kurdish women are ongoing since then.”
