The lawsuit filed against Birgün newspaper editor Gökay Başcan due to the news article on the law amendment authorising the Environment Agency, established under the auspices of Emine Erdoğan, to transfer coastal areas to private companies, was held at Istanbul 17th Criminal Court of First Instance. The trial of the journalist charged with “insult” will continue on 28 March.
