A lawsuit was filed against Gazete Karınca owner Necla Demir due to the news and interviews published on the Afrin Operation. Istanbul 33rd Assize Court accepted the indictment, which charges Demir with “making successive illegal organization propaganda” with a claim of imprisonment for up to 13 years. The indictment charged Demir due to the news published on the website of the newspaper on February 13, 2018, entitled, “Mentality is the same with the one in 1915; If it changed, Dink wouldn’t be assassinated and Afrin wouldn’t be targeted” as well as those published on February 28, 2018, entitled, “Afrin calls for compliance with ceasefire: Hospitals have no more capacity, medical help must be provided” and “Operation continues in Afrin on 57th Day: Attacks reach provincial center.”
