Ahmet Atakan had lost his life after the police intervention against the Gezi Park protests in Hatay. The first hearing of the lawsuit filed against Atakan’s mother, Emsal Atakan, due to her social media posts was held at Hatay 3rd Criminal Court of First Instance. Atakan is charged with “public denigration of the government’s military or security organisation” through her social media posts on Dilek Doğan, who was killed by the police. The second hearing of the lawsuit was scheduled for March 26, 2020.
