The lawsuit filed against former Editor-In-Chief of Cumhuriyet Daily Can Dündar and former Managing Editor Abbas Yalçın due to “insulting the President” through the news article published in 2015 with the headline, “Bayık: We Will End War If Operations End” was concluded. Istanbul 2nd Criminal Court of First Instance decided for the warrant against Dündar to be removed, since his defense statement will have no contribution to the file, and abated the case due to the 4-month time limitation period indicated in the Press Law having been exhausted.
