A lawsuit was filed against Mezopotamya News Agency reporter Berzan Güneş, who was previously taken into custody on June 11th at a police checkpoint on his way to central Şırnak to collect news information and was later arrested within the investigation against him due to ‘illegal organization propaganda.’
Güneş will stand trial at Iğdır Assize Court due to his news coverage and social media post. The first hearing will be held on 7 August 2018.
