A lawsuit was filed against artist Saide İnaç, publicly known as Hozan Cane, due to insulting President Erdoğan. The artist’s lawyer Nevroz Akalın stated that the prosecution started again due to a comic on Erdoğan that was shared on the artist’s Facebook page. The German citizen Kurdish citizen artist had been detained in Edirne, where he went within electoral work of the People’s Democratic Party (HDP) before the elections on June 24th, 2018. She was later arrested with the allegation of “illegal organisation membership” and was sentenced to 6 years and three months of imprisonment within the case in November 2018.
