The lawsuit filed against six women, who were detained as they were protesting male violence against women with a ‘Las Tesis’ dance demonstration in Kadıköy, Istanbul on December 8, 2019, was concluded with acquittal of the charge of “violating the Law on Meetings and Demonstrations No. 2911” at Istanbul Anatolian 29th Criminal Court of First Instance. Lawyer Tuba Torun made a statement after the hearing and said, “This decree is the rightful result of an unfair prosecution. What needs to be prosecuted is not the women but the oppressive mentality.”
