Two press statements of All Village Headmen Association Chairman Metin Kaya, who wanted to announce his candidacy for Justice and Development Party (AKP) Trabzon Provincial Chairmanship, were prevented by the police due to the “outbreak.” Kaya faced judicial and administrative action due to the first statement he wanted to make in November, and the second announcement he wanted to make at Turkish Journalists Association Trabzon Branch was prevented by the Governorate. AKP is currently in the congress period, and “sole candidates” are competing only.
