Kars Governorate issued all protests and demonstrations to be organized in the province for 15 days. The ban was issued before the solidarity visit of People’s Democratic Party (HDP) Co-Chair Pervin Buldan. Those arriving in the province for the event had to return from the police checkpoints at the entrances and exits of the province.
Kars Mayor Ayhan Bilgen and many other People’s Democratic Party (HDP) executives have recently been detained within the investigation opened by Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office six years after the “October 6-7, 2014 Kobane incidents.”
