Kanal D reporter Şevval Şirin was beaten and detained by the police after wanting to interview the school principal while investigating the allegations of an officer sexually assaulting children at an elementary school in Esenyurt, Istanbul. The reporter’s phone was confiscated and she was held under custody off record inside the school. After Şirin complained against the police officers, the police officers complained against Şirin as well!
