Berkin Elvan was shot with a tear gas shell and killed during the Gezi Park protests. Judge Galip Mehmet Perk was appointed to the lawsuit filed against the perpetrator police officer Fatih Dalgalı. Perk was the judge of the Gezi Park Case, which concluded with acquittal. As he was handling the case, a Twitter account opened with his name had liked a tweet that called Berkin Elvan a “terrorist.” The same account also liked a social media post by Justice and Development Party (AKP) Ankara MP Emrullah İşler, targeting the Gezi Park protests. This situation was expressed at the Gezi Park Case, afterwards, the related account was closed.
