There were developments in three separate cases against journalists in Turkey.
In the Diyarbakır trial, journalist Abdurrahman Gök’s travel ban was not lifted in the case against him on charges of “illegal organization membership” and “making illegal organization propaganda”. Gök stated that the ban prevented him from practicing his profession and the court adjourned the hearing to November 25.
Journalist Ahmet Güneş was acquitted of “illegal organization membership” charges in the Istanbul trial. The court ruled on the grounds that the crime was not fixed.
The case against Mezopotamya Agency reporters Esra Solin Dal and Mehmet Aslan and journalist Erdoğan Alayumat was adjourned to November 20 for the elimination of deficiencies. The court ordered the prosecutor’s office to write a writ to ask the fate of the files.
