The 30th hearing of journalist Şerife Oruç’s trial, which has been ongoing since 2016 on charges of “membership in an organization,” was held at the Batman 2nd Heavy Penal Court. Oruç, a reporter for the DİHA news agency, which was shut down by a decree, did not attend the hearing; her lawyer, Mesut Aydın, was present. In the hearing, where no defense was presented, the court decided to await the execution of the arrest warrant issued against Oruç in the previous session and to address the deficiencies in the case file. The next hearing was postponed to June 16, 2026.
