Journalist Mehmet Erol, who was on trial due to his social media posts, was acquitted in the first hearing of the lawsuit filed against him at Diyarbakır 10th Assize Court. Erol was on trial due to “making illegal organisation propaganda” through his tweets between the years 2013 and 2015, made from the official Twitter account of the Democratic Regions Party (DBP), where he was working as the party’s press advisor, as well as from his personal account.
