Journalist Mehmet Çakmakçı was acquitted of the charge of “terrorist organisation membership” due to his meetings with news resources as well as the photos he took. Diyarbakır 10th Assize Court issued the acquittal of Çakmakçı, who remained under arrest for three months within the file facing imprisonment for up to 15 years, due to “lack of evidence on him having committed the imposed crime.”
